About the CD Replication Service

Our manufacturing sites always stay at the cutting edge of CD production techniques and continued investments means quality assurance at all times. The technical expertise in glass master production, CD replication and CD printing of the product, ensures the finest first class quality CD disc each time.

CD Replication lines are fitted with in line "inspection systems" which ensures that each CD is tested for any mechanical and cosmetic defects. Die-casting and injection moulding problems, scratches, dust and coating defects are all automatically checked and defect discs rejected.

The raw materials used in production and packaging of the product are of the highest quality from the most renowned suppliers. Our commitment and enthusiasm will ensure your product is realised in the most efficient and quality controlled manner, while always observing deadlines set by the client.

 Basic summary of CD replication

CD ROM replication is less expensive than CD Duplication when it comes to quantities over 500 pcs or more but they need to be produced by a professional replication plant. With millions of CDs being replicated each day, CD ROM replication can yield significantly lower costs in large volume.

We can print finish the disc using silk screen or litho techniques, please read the PDF's below on the specifications of the printing service.

What is replication : The process of pressing or stamping data onto a DVD from a master disc

The CD Replication Process

The CD replication and DVD replication process begins the same as CD duplication. You provide us with a finished CD-r master but instead of duplicating the CDs in duplication towers on blank CDrs we create what is called a stamper. A stamper is a digital mirror image of your master disc and is used in a press that takes plastics, metals and bonding agents to actually stamp an exact copy of your original master CD disc. Because of the lower costs associated with CD replication, the majority of high volume produced discs on the market are not duplicated.

The CD Replicated disc gives a duplicate of your master CD.

About The DVD Replication Service

Our DVD replicated products are manufactured using some of the most advanced pressing lines in Europe. We can offer

a fast and efficient service, which can cope with all volume requirements. We can print finish the disc using silk screen or litho techniques.

We are able to produce the following DVD types:

  • DVD 5: single sided/single layer (4.7GB) (graphic) / 133 mins of video
  • DVD 9: single sided/dual layer (8.5GB) (graphic) / 242 mins of video
  • DVD 10: double sided/single layer (9.4GB) (graphic) / 266 mins of video (printing inner circle only)
  • DVD 18: double sided/dual layer (17 GB) (graphic) / 484 mins of video

Notes:

  • Single file system for all content and range of media
  • Master disc required: DVD-r / DLT Tape
  • Colour proof is advisable for all jobs to ensure full satisfaction

The DVD Replication process?

The DVD replication processes require quality, accuracy and speed from start to finish. The DVD replication process involves the creation of a glass master disc from a DVD or digital linear tape . The glass master is then used to manufacture additional discs by physically imprinting (stamping) data onto their foil or plastic substrates. Replication employs silkscreen or off-set printing for label artwork, which yields improved image quality. The DVD replication process is finished after the application of a protective lacquer that is spun onto the disc and then hardened by ultraviolet (UV) light. The replication process is now complete. Professional DVD replication ensures quality and accuracy. Every 1000th, 10,000th or 1,000,000th disc will be an exact replica of the original.

What is a DVD Replicated disc?

DVD replication gives you simply a duplicate of your master DVD.

What is?

CMYK ?

Four colour process (also know as full colour printing) involves using the basic colours of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and the key colour black to print your artwork/Image to the disc.

Each colour is used separately to build the image. At each stage of the process the individual colours are UV cured ( dried) before the next colour is applied.

Pantone Colours?

Pantone , PMS or spot colours are an industry standard for colour matching. Almost all of the graphic software programs support  the use of Pantone colours.
By using PMS colour palettes numbers from a swatch book helps provide an accurate colour match. This ideal for the use of colours within corporate logos and such like.

Cromalin Proofs?

A Cromalin proof is a print proof which we use to colour match to ensure that your CD/DVD  is printed correctly.

Stamper?

A glass master disc  is used as a master during Replication for the stampers from which CDs and DVDs are eventually pressed. It is much larger than the final discs and are created in a sealed environment to ensure that it is free of contaminants

Offset Litho Printing?

Offset litho printing, four plates (CMYK) are manufactured from your original artwork. Each plate is used to transfer an inked image onto a rubber blanket that has been mounted on a cylinder. The rubber blanket then transfers (or offsets) the inked image onto the disc as it passes through the press. As the disc moves through the press, the four colours combine to create a high resolution picture on the face of the disc.

Screen Printing?

To be able to print direct onto a CD/DVD either a Rom or CD/DVD recordable disc a film and screen has to be made. Each colour has to have it’s own film and screen. You can have one up to full colours printed. The screen is made of a mesh through which ink is pushed. The screens were originally made of silk, hence the term Silk screen printing. Each colour is used separately to build the image. At each stage of the process the individual colours are UV cured ( dried) before the next colour is applied
